I've been watching the Killstream religiously for a number of months now on youtube. Almost never open my google account since PRISM though. I also dislike watching video from the browser, so I watch it from mpv, which hooks through youtube-dl. And after a bit of fiddling, I found I can also watch and download dlive videos with mpv and youtube-dl in pretty much the same way, except by decoding the m3u8 and feeding it to either of those. I was trying catch the rtmp because I thought it was going to be more like showroom, but it turns out it was way easier. So, that's pretty cool.
However, I tend to watch it in low quality, because I have it mostly in the background while I'm work or playing videogames, so I don't really need to waste much bandwidth. There's also the fact I have a pretty slow internet speed, so having it at 360p makes sense. Whenever I watch anything from twitch (evo/evo japan and whatnot), I also limit it, mainly because my internet speed can't handle much.
So I now find myself in a predicament. I can download and watch the show (or anything else here I'd be interested in and would want to support) just fine with youtube-dl, but I can't watch it live, neither through the browser nor mpv, because the source (720p at 60fps, which makes no sense for such a show) is too much for my third world internet speed.
So I was wondering if you were planning on adding multiple options for quality, like the ones you find in youtube, dailymotion, twitch and the like.
Other than that, thank you very much for being a new home for the show, and for offering a free speech alternative that can support the creators we like.
EDIT: I was trying to watch The Warpath just now, and Andy is streaming at 480p, but it's still too much for my speed to handle as well. I'm assuming is an issue with the framerate?
